Rebecca Campbell Hurt, age 86, of Stanley Total Living Center in Stanley, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026. Ms. Hurt was born October 17, 1939, in Lincoln County, North Carolina, daughter of the late Reid and Ruth Wise Campbell.
Ms. Hurt is survived by her sons, Tim Hurt (Debra) and Jeff Hurt (Karen), both of Lincolnton, NC; daughter, Lynne H. Burgin (Mitch) of Lincolnton, NC; daughter-in-law, Kathy Hurt of Clover, SC; grandchildren, Brittney Renn, April Hurt (Brandon), Matt Burgin (Tiffany), Colby Burgin (Kelli), Amanda Hurt (Billy), Jeffrey Hurt (Brittney), and Brandon Hurt (Jessica); and fourteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Hurt was preceded in death by her son, Greg Hurt; sisters, Clara Gilbert and Mary Ann Bynum; and great-granddaughter, Chloe Arwood.
The funeral service for Ms. Hurt will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Boger City Baptist Church in Lincolnton, NC, with the Reverend Bill Bigham officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
